Pupil Premium

Pupil Premium

At St Martin at Shouldham Primary Academy we strongly believe that all children have the right to an excellent education underpinned by outstanding quality teaching with high expectations. On that basis we are determined to ensure that our children are given every chance to realise their full potential. The Pupil Premium Grant is additional funding provided by the Department for Education to enhance the education of social-economically disadvantaged pupils (namely those pupils entitled, or previously entitled, to free school meals (FSM), Looked After Children (LAC) or adopted from care).

Schools are free to decide on how best to allocate the funds for programmes to support its disadvantaged pupils.

In 2022/23, the percentage of pupils eligible for the Pupil Premium is 20% currently (37 eligible pupils).

The amount of Pupil Premium funds allocated to St Martin at Shouldham Primary Academy for 2021-2022 was £30,925.

The amount allocated for the 2022-2023 academic year is £26,315.

The Pupil Premium provision is planned in an integrated and targeted manner for this academic year to ensure that those pupils entitled to the Pupil Premium receive additional support to address the identified barriers.

The next review date for the strategy will be: 6th September 2023

"The number of pupils in each year group for whom the school receives the pupil premium is too small to make valid comparisons but, overall, the progress made by these pupils in English and mathematics is similar to other pupils in the school. This is because they receive individualised support which is well matched to their particular needs".
